Designers, supermodels, superstars, celebrities, stylists and press will start arriving in Jamaica next week for Caribbean Fashionweek, scheduled for June 6-10 this year. The 13th renewal of the event takes place at the National Indoor Sports Centre in Kingston. Events will also be held at the Spanish Court Hotel, PULS8 in New Kingston, Villa Ronai in Stony Hill and the Red Bones Blues Cafe.

Caribbean Fashion Week, Jamaica’s premier fashion show which heralds the summer calendar of A-list events begins on June 6 and runs until June 10, 2013.
From all indications, this year is expected to exceed all previous standards set, with added glamour, more glitz and many new styles and trends hitting the runway. Patrons should come expecting to be tantalized and intoxicated by the best of the best within the Caribbean and International fashion world.
Music legend Sheila Escovedo, populary known as Sheila E., will perform live with her band at Caribbean Fashionweek on Sunday June 9. The iconic musician, singer of the hugely popular “Glamourous Life” and drummer for the incomparable Prince,has combined careers of singer, song-writer, arranger, drummer, band member and, in recent years, musical director for the likes of Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez.
Kim Simplis-Barrow, wife of the Prime Minister of Belize and that country’s Special Envoy for Women and Children, heads a delegation to Caribbean Fashionweek from Belize. The delegation will include officials,designers and models from that country. Belize is interested in developing itscreative industries, including fashion. CFW takes place in Kingston, June 6-10this year.
T&T Designer Claudia Pegus
Pulse has announced that a delegation from the twin island republic of Trinidad and Tobago, representing the best of that country’s fashion talent are headed to CFW, scheduled for June 6-10 this year. The group includes two of Trinidad’s most celebrated designers Claudia Pegus and Heather Jones, neither of whom have shown collections at CFW for over 4 years. Also coming from T&T are top stylists Robert Young of the Cloth, as well as Nigel Eastman of Zad and Eastman. Coming too are roots designer Wadada and the highly respected Saleem Samuels. This 6 member team is the strongest to come to CFW from Trinidad in several years.
